From April to June 2026, participants in the GSS (GroupSocial Support) and CCBR (Community Centre Based Respite) day groups enjoyed awide variety of activities that encouraged social connection, activeparticipation, and quality time together.
Participants took part in arts and crafts, games, puzzles,colouring activities, cooking and baking, as well as numerous excursions andthemed gatherings celebrating ANZAC Day, Poland’s May national holidays, andMother’s Day. Highlights of the program included visits to the Shrine ofRemembrance, the Royal Botanic Gardens, Melbourne and Hastings, shared cookingworkshops, health presentations for seniors delivered by nurse Magda,intergenerational activities with preschool children (Highett 1 group), and variousmusic and arts events.
These diverse activities provided opportunities forparticipants to develop new interests, expand their knowledge, strengthenfriendships among seniors, and enjoy meaningful time together in a warm andwelcoming environment.
